Zip 250 SCSI drive users will benefit from a performance boost, up to 56 times faster than standard floppy drives and 1.4 times faster than external CD-ROM drives. Best of all, current Zip 100 drive users need not worry about their investment in 100MB Zip media-the new Zip 250 drive reads and writes 100MB Zip disks as well as 250MB Zip disks (optimum performance is gained using 250MB media). And at $199.95 (estimated street price), the Zip 250 drive paves a smooth path and provides tremendous value for users to upgrade from Zip 100 drives, keeping their systems primed for their ever-growing digital needs.

To meet the challenges of the most demanding PC users, Zip® 250 drives and disks were created and designed with these six qualities in mind:

Compatibility. The Zip® 250 drive is simply an extension to the Zip family of products, meaning it is compatible with all Zip disks ever sold (over 100 million). Keep in mind, while you can use 100MB disks in the 250MB Zip drive, the opposite is not true. 250MB Zip disks do not work in 100MB Zip drives. And since Zip disks are everywhere-in service bureaus, schools, offices and homes-you can be sure to share and deliver content to family, friends, and colleagues without a problem.

Capacity. Each new disk for the Zip® 250 Drive holds 250MBs of data. Good thing, too, since software applications these days are pumping up the size of even simple files. Performance. The SCSI Zip 250 drive boasts a 56x-performance increase over normal floppy drives and is as much as 1.4x faster than external CD-ROM drives. Hardware and interface advancements in Zip® 250 SCSI drives also yield 50% increased performance over the original Zip 100 SCSI drive. Parallel port performance is approximately equivalent to parallel port Zip 100 drive speeds.

Software enhanced. The Zip 250 drive comes equipped with a full suite of software on CD-ROM that will help you get the most out of your drive. The IomegaWare™ software includes RecordIt™ software and 1-Step Backup as well as all the tools and drivers you will need to operate the drive.
