August 17, 1999:
ZiggyPC.com is Launched.
 |
| ZiggyPC.com went online
today, announcing two lines of performance/value based systems: the 380 and
380-D. The two systems have been in the works
since November, in wait until all of the components were found at the right price.
The 350 model runs on an AMD processor to take advantage of AMD and Intel's pricing
rivalry, and otherwise boasts quite a complete package that is fully-featured and
exceptionally priced. The 380-D model includes a DVD with MPEG decoder card, and, we
think, is ideal to plug right in to your home entertainment system. Sales
expectations are high, judging by the positive response we have already gotten. |

August 31, 1999: ZiggyPC 3-400 Introduced
 |
| Today the ZiggyPC line gets a
new member: the ZiggyPC 400+.
This system is the fastest of the bunch with AMD's K6/3 processor running at 400
MHz. The K6/3 has an innovative TriLevel Cache design that greatly increases
performance under Windows 98. The system also comes equipped with an Ultra DMA/66
hard drive. This allows for higher transfer rates, and a doubled burst transfer rate
of 66 MB/sec compared to the 33 MB/sec of Ultra DMA/33. This is an incredibly fast
system. |
